I really had no idea how expensive weddings could be. I mean, I had an inkling. But I thought that the small and simple ceremony with all of our friends, family, and acquaintances would be an affordable event. But after researching wedding venues it's starting to appear like it's not.
I guess that's why they had a subreddit for Weddings under 10k. Lol.
Anyway, it's been less than a week and we haven't set a date yet. But I'm going to start paying attention to my spending again and making sure that I start socking money away in my high yield savings account for the big day.
I have a feeling that my parents are going to want to help (I am their only daughter, after all) but that doesn't feel right. I'm in my thirties and this is something I'd really like to handle myself.
So anyway... Here's what I spent today:
McDonald's: $7.94
- 10 piece chicken nugget
- Small diet coke
WalMart: $43.37
- Cold medicine (I'm sick again... sigh)
- Cough drops
- Multivitamin Gummies
- Ground Coffee (We are out and there's no way I'm doing a Monday morning tomorrow without coffee)
- Olive oil spray (for when we air fry veggies)
Total: $51.31
Challenge for this week? Let's see if we can spend less than $120.
xo Marian
